Hello from my new Avatar!

I’ve just found this tool and think it’s really funny! You can also create your Vokis on http://www.voki.com There are different characters and you can also choose different voices and accents and make them say whatever you want. Try and share if you can! ;)

Job interview

Hello everybody!

Last week we dealt with how to do well at job interviews and how to talk effectively about yourself. That's the reason why I recommend you to see the following video and answer the comprehension questions. I hope it is useful!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hi there!

As you probably know, one of the key elements when learning a language is the cultural aspect that surrounds it. It's essential that we have some knowledge about the culture of a society if we want to understand its people. This is the reason why we worked on Halloween in our last lesson. What do you think about this celebration? What do you like and dislike about it?. You know that it is very popular in many countries, but especially in the United States. This time I would like you to watch a video about "creepy Halloween destinations" around the world. It is a description of scary places to visit in Halloween, if you are not easily scared!

After watching the video and listening to words such as "spooky", "scary", "creepy", "haunted", would you like to visit any of these places? If you had to choose one, which one would it be? Why? How do you think your experience would be if you went to this place? I don't think I would go to any of these destinations at night, maybe in broad daylight, and I'm not quite sure... What about you?

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Welcome to The English Quarter!

I imagine you all know the importance of the English language nowadays. Therefore, if you want to enjoy your walks around The English Quarter, it is a must that you like English and are willing to participate and speak in this beautiful language. In this blog you will find the opportunity to communicate with your classmates and teacher, to ask questions or any doubts you might have, to share your ideas and opinions (in English, of course…) and to practise with supplementary material. I really hope this is useful for everyone and helps you in your learning process. Also I encourage you to feel free to make any suggestions or comments you consider interesting for the improvement of this place. The same as there is no class without students, this blog will not move forward without you. Thanks in advance for your participation and feedback. I hope you enjoy your stay… let’s start walking!
